What Makes a Good President?

Who Will be the Next President?
by Brenda W.

Every child has most likely said “When I grow up I want to be the President”, but can anyone really be president? I believe there are certain traits one must have to be able to take on a career such as the presidency. It takes someone who not only has a good moral compass to run the country but a good role model for their citizens. They must also be dependable, when there is a crisis you must trust that they will always make the wise decision for our country. When it comes to the issues they must stick to their guns and do what they stand for.
You want your President to be a good role model so your kids can have someone to look up to and strive to be. You want someone who will influence younger generations for the better. Not only have that but someone who makes the United States have a good image for the rest of the world.
Your President must also be dependable; you need someone you can turn to when things get bad. Whenever there is a crisis in the U.S. you don’t want just anyone to deal with it. It needs to be someone with a good mindset that can handle stressful situations. You want someone who will present themselves as if they have complete control at all times.
Not anyone can be President of the United States. However, if you have any of these traits there is a chance you could possibly be the President. Your child could have been right and you just don’t know it yet.

Don't Argue With Me

by Brenda W

It is probably easy to assume that argument and logic are the same, but that’s not true. When you are arguing something you are trying to get your point across on why you believe something. Logic is simply using your brain to make the best decision. Global Warming is a huge topic, you could write pages upon pages of information. A big problem with Global Warming is arctic shrinkage. On top of it just rising sea levels it is also taking homes from animals. I am a big animal lover so arctic shrinkage is something that grabs my attention and tugs at my heart more than anything else. There is also more to it than just those two things. Arctic shrinkage to me is a big problem and possibly one of the biggest problems with Global Warming. To make people believe my reasoning I will give facts and statistics. I will give all the information I can to make them see why Global Warming is a real issue.

WV water crisis!

Water Contamination by Brenda W. To me this new development is scary, the whole thing was crazy to begin with but now that there are dangerous chemicals such as Formaldehyde it just makes the situation worse. She is saying that they are advising pregnant women not to drink the water, but what about the ones who already have? If their babies are born with any kind of defects they could likely be sued. I couldn’t imagine being in any of the areas affected by this. I have family and friends in one of the counties that was affected. My best friend said that FEMA was giving out water and they had to go to her uncle’s house to take showers since he has well water. It really made me feel bad for the older people who possibly wasn’t able to go out to get fresh water and for those families who are less fortunate. I heard from my mom and girlfriend that the water company wasn’t going to charge them for a certain amount of water used but it turns out it was only five dollars being deducted from their bill. I had watched videos of people catching their water on fire and it’s crazy to think that the water you depend on every day is flammable. I strongly believe that they should take more off people’s bills because they had to go a week without water. Hopefully if this is to happen again they will be more generous and do so.
